Frequent aggressive price negotiation
Risk of fake cards among wary buyers

Best for: Rare and uncommon cards of moderate value (€2-15), card lots, and beginner sellers who want a simple interface. Not suitable for premium cards where precise market price is important.

Tips for selling at the best price
01
Check the price on Cardmarket before setting yours
Cardmarket is the price reference. Filter by condition (Near Mint) and look at the last 10 concluded sales — not the asking prices. Set your price between the last 3 concluded sales for a quick sale.
02
Photograph under various lights
For premium cards, a photo under direct light (showing the holography) and a photo in natural light (showing actual defects). Buyers who purchase from photos want to see the actual condition — negative surprises generate returns.
03
Ship with protection for valuable cards
Top loader in a rigid envelope with "Do not bend" clearly visible — this is the minimum for valuable cards. A card damaged during transit becomes a dispute. For cards +€30, registered mail with insurance is recommended.
04
Sell common lots on Vinted, premium on Cardmarket
Optimal strategy: a lot of 100 commons on Vinted for €2-3 (Vinted buyers often look for volume), and the SAR on Cardmarket where the buyer knows exactly what they are paying for. Each platform has its natural market.

FAQ
Where to sell your Pokémon cards in France to get the best price?
Cardmarket is the reference for valuable cards in Europe — buyers know the prices and pay the fair market value. For premium Japanese cards, eBay provides access to American and Asian international demand, which often pays more. Vinted is suitable for lots of common cards or moderately valuable cards (€2-10) where Cardmarket fees would reduce the margin too much.
What are the fees on Cardmarket for selling Pokémon cards?
Cardmarket charges a 5% commission for sellers with fewer than 1000 sales, which rises to 8% and then stabilizes. In addition to these fees, there are shipping costs (which you set) and payment processing fees via the platform. In total, expect 8-15% fees depending on your sales volume. For a €20 card, you will receive approximately €17-18 net after fees — significantly better than on eBay for the European market.
Can you sell Pokémon cards on Vinted?
Yes, Vinted accepts collectible cards. The advantages: zero seller fees, large user base in France. The disadvantages: Vinted buyers are often not specialized in Pokémon TCG and aggressively negotiate prices. For valuable cards (€20+), you will almost always be better off on Cardmarket. Vinted is effective for lots of commons or uncommon cards at €2-5.
How to price your Pokémon cards for sale?
The reliable method: go to Cardmarket, search for your exact card (same expansion, same number), filter by Near Mint or Excellent condition depending on your card's condition, and look at the last 5-10 concluded sales (not the asking prices). Position yourself at the price of the 3rd or 4th recent sale to sell quickly, or slightly higher if you are not in a hurry. Never look at asking prices — only concluded sales reflect real value.
